One of our customers rented a New Holland tractor from our Cypress location to use as part of his wedding ceremony in which was held in January 2017. The tractor was used to transport the groom, Jagroop (Jag) Legha, to the wedding ceremony which was held at the Gurudwara Sahib of Houston.
Commemorating Family Farming Heritage
Jag’s parents were raised in the state of Punjab where there are many farmers. For farmers from Punjab who are practicing Sikhs, it is tradition to have the groom and his family parade to the bride and her family for the first part of the wedding ceremony, which is called the Baraat. The groom travels in a tractor with his family and close friends parading alongside.
New Holland Tractor for the Wedding Parade
Jag chose to travel in a New Holland tractor to his bride, Arpita Baweja. The parade was led by Jag’s closest friends and family who were all singing and dancing alongside the tractor. Arpita, her family, and some of her closest friends welcomed the groom near the entrance of the Gurdwara.
Jag went to Lansdowne-Moody Company in search of simply attractive and easy-to-maneuver tractor rentals. He wasn’t an experienced tractor driver, though he said that his entire experience using the tractor was only joyful.
“Driving the tractor was super easy! I was given detailed instructions on how to use it,” said Jag.
